Webex Calling | Transfer a caller straight to VM

Webex Calling | Transfer a caller straight to VM

When you’re on a call, you can transfer the call to another person’s voicemail directly. For example, you know that the other person is not at their phone. This way, you can avoid making the caller wait for the other person’s phone to ring and then go to voicemail.

As you talk to someone, you may find that someone else can handle your call. You can transfer the call to that person’s voicemail.

1

During a call, do one of these actions:

  • Desk phone—Press Transfer the Transfer key.
  • Conference phone—Press the Transfer softkey.
2

Press *55, then either

  • The speed-dial button for the other person (if you have them on speed-dial)

  • The other person’s extension

You can hang up at this point. The call goes to the other person’s voicemail.

If the other person does not have a voicemail account, the call goes directly to that person’s phone.

Another Version:
To transfer a call directly to a user's voicemail in Webex Calling, use the feature code *55 followed by the user's extension. This will bypass ringing the user's phone and send the call straight to their voicemail.

Here's how to do it:
While on an active call: Press the transfer button the Transfer key (or softkey) on your Webex Calling device.
Enter the code: Dial *55, followed by the user's extension.
Hang up: You can hang up at this point, and the call will be transferred to the other user's voicemail.

Additional notes:
*You can also transfer a call to your own voicemail by using the same code *55 followed by your extension.

*If the other user doesn't have a voicemail account, the call will go directly to their phone.

*You can also use the same code *55 and extension to directly transfer the call to the recipient's voicemail while on the call with a colleague or during a consultative transfer.
